These terms are designed to be fair, clear, and in line with standard UK service practice. They apply to all cleaning appointments arranged with us, whether the service is booked in advance, on a repeat basis, or as an urgent one-off request. In these Terms and Conditions, references to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the service provider trading as Carpet Cleaners N10, and references to “you” or “your” mean the customer receiving the service.

1. Booking Process

All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by us. A request for a carpet cleaning appointment does not create a binding contract until we confirm the booking. We may confirm bookings verbally, in writing, or through our booking system. Once confirmed, the appointment date, estimated arrival window, service scope, and any special requirements will form part of the agreement.

When you place a booking, you must provide accurate information about the property, access arrangements, floor type, carpet condition, staining, pets, parking restrictions, and any health or safety concerns. This helps us decide whether the requested cleaning service is suitable and what equipment, products, and time allocation may be required. If the information provided is incomplete or misleading, we may need to revise the quoted price, alter the appointment, or decline to proceed.

We may ask for photographs, measurements, or additional details before confirming the booking. This is especially important for heavily soiled carpets, specialist fibres, delicate fabrics, or jobs that may require pre-treatment or additional drying time. Any estimate given before inspection is based on the details supplied by you and may be revised if the actual condition differs materially from the description provided.

2. Service Scope and Customer Responsibilities

Our carpet and upholstery cleaning services are limited to the tasks specifically agreed at the time of booking. Unless agreed otherwise, we do not move heavy furniture, disconnect appliances, remove fixtures, or undertake repair work. You are responsible for clearing small items, valuables, fragile objects, and anything that may obstruct access to the treated area.

You must ensure that suitable access is available on the appointment date and that someone aged 18 or over is present to authorise the work, confirm any changes, and inspect the completed service where necessary. If we are unable to gain access, or if access is delayed due to your actions or omissions, additional charges may apply. We may also need to reschedule the appointment.

We use professional cleaning methods chosen according to the material and condition of the item or floor covering. However, some materials are more susceptible to shrinkage, colour run, pile distortion, or pre-existing wear becoming more visible after cleaning. You acknowledge that no cleaning process can guarantee the removal of all stains, odours, or marks, particularly where damage has already penetrated the fibres or backing.

3. Pricing, Payment and Deposits

Prices may be quoted as a fixed fee, from a minimum charge, or on an hourly or area-based basis depending on the type of carpet cleaning service required. Unless stated otherwise, quotations are based on the information supplied before attendance and assume normal working conditions. If additional work is required due to overlooked rooms, extra staining, furniture, parking delays, or unexpected contamination, the price may be adjusted.

We may require a deposit or advance payment to secure certain appointments, especially for large jobs, repeat bookings, commercial premises, or same-day requests. Where a deposit is taken, it forms part of the total service price unless the booking is cancelled in accordance with these terms. Any remaining balance must be paid immediately after completion unless we have agreed an alternative payment arrangement in writing before the visit.

Payment methods accepted may include bank transfer, card payment, or other approved methods notified at the time of booking. Cash payments, if accepted, must be made in full upon completion. If payment is not received when due, we may charge reasonable recovery costs and interest to the extent permitted by law. Title to any goods supplied, if applicable, does not pass until full payment has been received.

4. Cancellations, Postponements and Missed Appointments

You may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving reasonable notice. Unless a shorter notice period has been specifically agreed, cancellations made at least 24 hours before the appointment will usually not incur a charge, although any non-refundable deposit may be retained where this has been clearly stated in advance. Where notice is less than 24 hours, we may charge a cancellation fee to cover lost time and administrative costs.

If we arrive at the property and cannot carry out the work because of lack of access, unsafe conditions, no available decision-maker, or failure to prepare the area as agreed, the booking may be treated as a late cancellation or missed appointment. In such cases, we may charge the full or partial appointment fee. If we need to postpone due to staff illness, equipment failure, severe weather, or other operational reasons beyond our control, we will seek to rearrange the appointment as soon as reasonably possible.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate a service if conditions become unsafe, if abusive behaviour occurs, if payment arrangements are not honoured, or if the actual service requested differs substantially from the original booking. In these circumstances, a reasonable charge may still apply for work already completed, travel time, or materials used.

5. Liability, Damage and Limitations

We will use reasonable care and skill in performing the carpet cleaners service. However, our liability is limited to direct loss or damage caused by our proven negligence, breach of contract, or failure to exercise reasonable care. We are not liable for pre-existing defects, wear and tear, hidden damage, improper installation, inherent fibre weakness, colour instability, or deterioration arising from age or previous treatment.

Before work begins, you should inform us of any known problems including loose seams, lifted edges, fragile dye, weakened backing, previous flood damage, moth damage, or areas that may be sensitive to moisture or heat. If such issues are not disclosed, we will not be responsible for resulting damage unless it is caused by our negligence. Where appropriate, we may decline to clean an item if we believe the risk of damage is unacceptably high.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to those exceptions, our total liability for any claim arising out of a booking will not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of business, lost profits, or missed opportunities.

6. Waste Regulations and Environmental Compliance

As part of our carpet cleaning UK service, we may collect waste water, removed soil, disposable materials, packaging, and used consumables. We will handle waste in accordance with applicable UK waste management rules and environmental obligations. Waste water, detergents, and residues must be dealt with responsibly and must not be discharged in a way that causes pollution, blockage, or nuisance.

You are responsible for notifying us of any known hazardous substances, biological contamination, sharps, needles, faecal matter, excessive mould, asbestos-related concerns, or other materials subject to special disposal requirements. If such substances are discovered during the service, we may suspend the work, apply additional charges, or require specialist disposal arrangements. We are not obliged to handle waste that would place our staff, your property, or the environment at unreasonable risk.

Where disposal of waste is included in the service, it will be carried out using lawful and proportionate methods. If local rules, site restrictions, or property management requirements impose additional steps, you must inform us before the appointment. You agree not to ask us to dispose of prohibited waste or to breach any environmental law, and you accept responsibility for all losses, penalties, or claims arising from inaccurate information provided by you.

7. Service Quality, Drying Time and Aftercare

We aim to deliver a high standard of carpet cleaning, but drying times may vary according to weather, ventilation, fibre type, humidity, underlay, and the level of soiling. Any drying estimate is approximate only. You are responsible for ensuring suitable ventilation after the service and for keeping traffic off treated areas until they are reasonably dry. We are not liable for marks, transfer, or re-soiling caused by premature use of the area.

Where protective products, stain treatments, or deodorising solutions are applied, results may vary depending on the age and condition of the carpet or fabric. Some stains may reappear after drying due to wicking, migration from the underlay, or residues already embedded below the visible surface. In such cases, additional treatment may be possible at extra cost, but no guarantee is given unless expressly stated in writing.

If you believe the service was not carried out with reasonable care and skill, you must notify us within a reasonable time after completion and before the affected area has been altered, re-cleaned, or subjected to additional treatment. This allows us the opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify the issue. Failure to allow inspection may affect any remedy that may otherwise be available.

8. Complaints, Insurance and Force Majeure

Any complaint should be raised promptly and in good faith. We may request photographs, a description of the issue, and access to the property to investigate. If a fault is identified and we accept responsibility, our preferred remedy may include re-cleaning, spot treatment, adjustment of the fee, or another reasonable solution. This process does not affect your statutory rights.

We maintain insurance cover that we consider appropriate for the nature of our services, but insurance does not mean that all claims will succeed. Claims must be based on evidence of loss and must relate directly to our actions or omissions. We are not responsible for delays, cancellation, or failure to perform where caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, fire, flood, pandemic restrictions, transport disruption, utility failures, or acts of third parties.

Where a force majeure event occurs, our obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event and we will take reasonable steps to resume the service once it is safe and practical to do so. If performance becomes impossible or commercially impractical for a prolonged period, either party may cancel the affected booking without further liability, apart from payment for any work already completed.

9. Privacy, Data and General Provisions

We may collect and use personal data only to manage bookings, deliver services, handle payments, and address queries or complaints. Any processing of personal data will be carried out in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws. We do not sell customer data. Information supplied by you must be accurate and kept up to date where relevant to the booking or service.

No failure or delay by us in enforcing any term shall operate as a waiver of that term. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions without our written consent. We may assign or subcontract some or all of our obligations where necessary to complete the service, provided this does not reduce the standard of performance owed to you.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer legislation provides otherwise. Nothing in this clause limits any rights you may have under mandatory UK consumer protection law.
